Small Talk: Mediheal’s BTS Moisturizing Care Special Set & Soothing Care Special Set – THE YESSTYLIST - Asian Fashion Blog

If you had a time machine, what would the first thing you do with it? For the YesStylists, the answer is almost unanimous – "reverse signs of aging". vanav is one of the leading Korean brands that has set the trend of using salon quality beauty equipment at home. Of course we had to buy our paws from one of the cheapest bestsellers, the Time Machine.

Zoe: Hey guys, how did you all find Vanav's time machine?

Maureen: I was amazed how light and thin it is! Looks like a mouse or a razor to me. XD

Romy: That's exactly what I thought! It looks like a cool computer mouse. It is such an interesting device and I am really enjoying it so far!

Dianne: My first impression was that it looked like a phone from the early 2000s, although it was much lighter. 😂

Zoe: Haha that's right. It's so light it feels like a toy! I'm so used to skin care devices that are USB charged. When I saw that the Time Machine was using batteries, I was a little surprised. 😂

Dianne: Equal! It's that easy too! I also like the different colors as you know which mode you are using.

Romy: It would be much better if it was a USB charge!

Maureen: I agree because I am always afraid that batteries will degrade and ruin the device.

Zoe: I think it's more wearable that way. I love the lights as I always keep my home beautiful around it at night. 😂 I know which mode I use in the dark too, haha.

Dianne: HAHAHAHA EXACTLY! Which mode did you use?

Romy: I've actually incorporated all of the modes, but the ones I use more often are the cleavage care and the vitamin C skin care mode.

Dianne: I also use the vitamin C mode! I've been using it with Purito's Pure Vitamin C Serum lately and I definitely feel like it moves in faster when I use the time machine.

Maureen: I don't use Vita C atm products, so I used the moisture and lifting mode.

Zoe: Wow folks, I only used the moisture mode on my face and neck lol.

Romy: I agree that it helps absorb products faster. I put AROMATICA's Reviving Rose Infusion Cream on my cleavage and it is so relaxing to use the Time Machine to massage my neck.

Dianne: It works very well in moisture mode too! I love using it with my Daymellow gels to soothe and massage my face after a long day ~ the gentle vibrations make me soooo sleepy afterwards. 😆

Romy: Haha, I definitely get tired after using it too. 😂

Zoe: I like the rhythm of the vibrations when I use the humidity mode. It's so relaxing and invigorating at the same time!

Maureen: The cleavage mode takes a long time! The recommended duration is 15 minutes, isn't it?

Dianne: That's crazy! 😮 Even five minutes with the other modes is too long for me LOL!

Zoe: Haha, I was a little lazy. 15 minutes is pretty long considering the mode only vibrates continuously for 3 minutes!
I just stop as soon as the device stops. 😂

Maureen: I wish it could vibrate continuously for 15 minutes so I don't have to count!

Romy: Yeah, it's pretty long. I honestly lose track of going on Netflix while massaging my neck with it.

Maureen: I'm too lazy to hold it that long so I also use it less than the suggested time.

Dianne: I think we're all in the same boat! 😂

Dianne: However, since we don't have to use it EVERY day, we may have to try a little longer to do at least the bare minimum. 😆 I think the recommended use of Vitamin C mode is 1-2 times a week.

Maureen: By the way, did you notice that it stops vibrating as soon as your hands are off the metal? I always play with it. XD

Dianne: Yes! I definitely noticed that Maureen! I was a little distracted the first time I used it and didn't try it properly because I kept tapping it on my skin instead of massaging it.

Romy: Haha, I noticed that too! It really is a skin care toy as I played around with it at first too!

Zoe: Moisture mode is recommended for every day, but for the neck do they recommend 3 times a week? I always use both, so I use the time machine about three times a week. 😂

Romy: I use the vitamin C mode at least once a week and I use the cleavage mode a lot more often as I have noticed that I have a bit of a technical neck – I need to get rid of the lines. 😆

Zoe: Is it me or does it sometimes not vibrate on the skin? Mine sometimes requires another pressure to vibrate again. 🤔

Maureen: I tend to hold it like a mouse so it doesn't get bothered! Your skin must be touching both metal parts for electrical current to flow. XD

Zoe: Or did I apply too much cream? Does that bother his sensitivity? 🤣

Romy: I feel you! Sometimes when I use basic mode it turns off and then I wonder what I did wrong.

Dianne: I found it worked best if you let the cream sit on your skin for a few seconds before using the device!

Romy: Ahh good tip. I'll try to let it sit first before I start next time.

Maureen: Basically, it is your body that completes the cycle.

Zoe: However, I find it helpful to switch between the front and back of the metal tip! Has anyone tried that?

Maureen: Oh, I never thought of that. I always use the back.

Romy: Likewise, I only use the back.

Dianne: Oooh, I've only ever used my back! Was there a big difference?

Zoe: For me I think so. At least it vibrates almost every time I use it like that. It can't see my skin after a couple of gos if I only use my back …

Dianne: I never had any problems with this tbh. 😲 Maybe it's because you have dry skin?

Romy: It's so interesting. I never thought that one side would work better than the other!

Dianne: My oily skin loves this! My skin was definitely supple after every use ~

Romy: We love supple skin. ♥ ️

Zoe: Maybe it was the creams that I used lol. They were kind of fat. You know, the one from SONREVE that I got for my Beauty Lab.

Maureen: Do you find it more effective than using the cream alone?

Zoe: The next morning my skin is less dry, but it's hard to tell as my creams are really nutritious. I notice a slight lifting effect immediately after use. I think it's like massaging my skin?

Romy: Maybe they were too rich for the device?

Zoe: Maybe haha.

Maureen: Yes, it's hard to compare the effects, but massaging feels good!

Romy: I also see a slight lifting effect, especially around my jaw, as I tend to notice water retention there!

Dianne: I saw the effects after 2 weeks. Before, my skin was having trouble absorbing whatever I put on it, and after that my skin wasn't as dehydrated.

Maureen: I also heard that the shape is inspired by Chinese Gua Sha.

Dianne: Lol, I can't see the inspo! It will look like a phone to me totally and forever. 😂

Zoe: Oh, I can see how it was inspired by Gua Sha. It feels like I am giving my skin a Gua Sha massage!

Romy: The shape doesn't really resemble a Gua Sha, but I think it's similar in terms of relaxing and calming effects! I also tried alternating it with the Rose Quartz Gua Sha from THE PURE LOTUS!

Maureen: Sometimes I use it with no skin care products, just to massage.

Zoe: Isn't it harder to slide?

I'm afraid it will rub against my dry skin. 😂 This is how wrinkles appear lol.

Romy: Oh how does it feel to use it with no skin care products?

Maureen: As Zoe said, it feels less smooth on my dry and wrinkled skin. XXXD

I use the moisture mode with the Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid Lotion from Hada Labo, which is my permanent essence + toner, and the Propolis Vitamin Eye Cream from iUNIK for the firming mode. But I'm too lazy to clean up so sometimes I use them separately. 😖

Zoe: How do you usually clean it up? I just rinse the tip with a small squirt of water and wipe it dry with a washcloth.

Zoe: Yeah the same ~ I get nervous if I get too much water on it just in case the battery starts rusting or something!

Romy: I usually use a damp cloth and small towel to wipe it dry.

Maureen: Similar. I spray a little water and wipe with a dry cloth. So far the device has worked perfectly – no signs of rust or electric shock to me! XD
