GFriend is a K-pop group known for their enchanting mood among girls next door – until their last comeback song of the sirens. When revising the group, each member emitted dark and dramatic vibrations. Despite this change in aesthetics for her stage outfits, girls look just as cute in everyday life, albeit with a slightly more mature style.
Sowon is the mother of the group, and her gentle, caring nature is reflected in her choice of muted color palettes and minimal pieces. With delicate dresses and subtle prints, the singer's outfits are casual and still have a hint of Cottagecore chic!
Asymmetric white dress, Eyelet top and matching hair tie
Sowon dresses both on her days off and on stage. It makes sense – it looks fantastic in them! That's why I became interested in this dramatic but easy-to-wear asymmetrical white dress. The camisole is clean and flattering, while the gathered skirt has a serious volume.
To give the look the atmosphere of a girl next door that the singer always radiates, I put a lace top with eyelets underneath. The elaborate embroidery, the puff sleeves and the Chelsea collar only scream for Cottagecore and let the white dress burst. Because it's summer, everyone carries a hair tie around with them. A retro scrunchie in a matching purple eyelet lace processing really combines the look. I pulled the color of the blouse and hair tie from one of GFriend's official fan colors: Ultra Violet. I chose a weakened version to make the summer more appropriate.
Ballerinas, Plaid socks and shoulder bag
For the singer's shoes, I styled them in ballerinas in a muted yellow shade. The yellow complements the purple of the top for a subtle color blocking effect that still matches the pastel palette. The straps of the apartments are connected with binding details, which extends their silhouette – although with 5 to 8 inches in this department it doesn't need any real help!
Sowon often wears checkered tops, but since the whole group is overhauling their image, I thought that their favorite print also needed a touch of change. I went with transparent checkered socks with yellow and purple stripes for a matchy-matchy feel.
The crossbody is indispensable for every outfit, including sowons. Usually she carries around a simple piece in a neutral shade. To match her outfit, however, I styled the idol in a pastel purple piece. The compact bag is designed with folds that reflect the volume of the skirt of the dress.
Matching sun chain and earrings
Sowon doesn't equip much, but I chose these minimal silver accessories to give her outfit a luxurious and elegant touch. The geometric design of the latest GFriend logo is more like a sun, so the necklace and earrings are a subtle allusion to their group!
