You can always rely on NEOGEN to supply innovative products that give the skin a dermatologically recognized rejuvenation treatment. So I had high hopes for the brand new, anti-aging collection enriched with probiotics. As my sensitive combination skin increasingly shows signs of dryness and dullness – not to mention the slightest tendency to sag – I am always on the lookout for formulas that can restore the ricochet and glow without causing irritation.
After I had never experienced the power of probiotics (in other words, good bacteria), which are supposed to reverse skin damage, alleviate irritation and promote long-term skin resilience, I started with great anticipation an intensive two-week treatment of selected products from the Youth Relief lines and Youth Repair of the brand. This included emulsion, serum, moisturizer, mist and sunscreen, all delivered in a pretty, matt pink packaging – a delicious departure from the usual clinical style of NEOGEN!
Are these products a quick entry ticket to lighter, firmer and more youthful skin? Or do they offer more subtle benefits, such as: B. a therapeutic reset for tired skin tones? Read on for the results!
The product: This light moisturizer contains cranberry extract, ceramides and five types of hyaluronic acid to strengthen moisture barriers and an infusion of probiotics against signs of premature aging. It can prepare, moisturize and revitalize aging skin.
The low point: This silky-soft, feather-light formula works wonderfully as an additional moisturizer, especially between toner and serum, and fits perfectly with the anti-aging heavy hits in my selection. Although I can't hold the potential improvements to my skin in one product, it definitely helped to soften and fill my skin while accelerating the absorption of other formulas!
The product: This super serum is uniquely packaged in a cylindrical double chamber dispenser and a combination of two formulas. The first is full of super-probiotics (21% lactobacillus ferment lysate) and hyaluronic acid, while the other is filled with ceramides and peptides to strengthen the skin's barrier.
The low point: While I'm not 100% convinced of the design, which is fun, but a bit tricky, there is no doubt that the integration of this product in my skin care has created a subtle, soft glow – not to mention a general fading of my design facial irritation. In addition, the aqueous, probiotic-rich mixture is immediately absorbed into the skin and produces effects in just one week. This is a star performer, especially in terms of brightening, toning and calming effects.
The product: A water gel cream with over 14% lactobacillus ferment lysate to lift the skin, remove wrinkles and restore bounce. This is considered an anti-aging must for women aged 25 to 35.
The low point: While I generally prefer richer, creamier textures for my moisturizers even in summer, this really did deliver. After religious use, my skin looked more hydrated and felt more supple – a visible turning point. While it slid smoothly enough, it left a slight but persistent stickiness and shine. I also had to get used to the strong, more syrupy scent (which permeates all other products in this collection to different degrees). All in all, although I love how it rejuvenates my stressed skin, I wonder if I will grab it every day because of its aftertaste and fragrance – which may not be everyone's taste.
The product: This probiotic-infused water-oil mist keeps heat and dryness at bay with occasional splashes and also offers active skin repair benefits. The unique Tru-Skin Barrier technology was specially developed to strengthen the skin barriers.
The low point: The formula was delivered in a super fine but highly concentrated spray – a subtle infusion instead of a thorough soaking that I love. While it doesn't have to surpass facial mist from other Korean brands I've tried, its skin-friendly properties give it an added benefit. It deserves a longer use to develop its full range of services.
The product: This light sun protection with a strong sun protection factor of 50 PA ++++ was developed to ward off UV rays and give the skin additional love thanks to moisturizing ingredients such as milk protein, aquaxyl and hyaluronic acid as well as a strong dose of probiotics.
The low point: I naively believed that physical sunscreens are all very similar, but this gentle but extremely effective product has changed my mind. The water-gel formula, which leaves no white shimmer, felt just right on my skin – silky smooth, not too fluid and long-lasting enough to require just a single refill over a long day. I'm not sure how extensive its anti-aging or skin repair properties are, but only its velvety texture and sun protection properties sold me.
My goals for saving my aging skin are simple: I'm not looking for miraculous reversals, just a slight improvement in the status quo. In this regard, the NEOGEN probiotic-based collection provided stable and encouraging results. After two weeks of intensive use, my skin definitely looked firmer, smoother and healthier – a great first step forward! Outstanding products include serum and sun essence – the former did its star rating, while the latter was a pleasant surprise. I would probably rotate the emulsion, moisturizer, and spray with other similar products in my skincare cabinet instead of using them exclusively, but there is no doubt that they are solid offerings that are suitable for a variety of skin tones, too for sensitive. While the strong fragrance of the collection initially paused me, I have since learned to accept it. After all, high-performance products are hard to come by.
