The September 2018 season of London Fashion Week is taking on a new shape this year. What is commonly referred to as the womenswear schedule for spring / summer 2021 will now be a gender-neutral storefront for womenswear and menswear designs that includes digital activations and physical presentations that comply with government policies on social distance.
From Thursday 17th September (12pm ET) to Tuesday 22nd September, londonfashionweek.co.uk will host the digital part of London Fashion Week. You can take a virtual front row seat to view and criticize exclusive multimedia content curated by the British Fashion Council. The official schedule for London Fashion Week in September 2020 will be released later this summer.
It is important to note that the London Fashion Week in September 2020 is not only gender neutral, but also an important step for the BFC to introduce a more sustainable fashion plan. It is common for the fashion plan to focus on what "comes next". In this way we always play a game where we catch up and chase after the "new". For example, September is typically used to preview what we'll wear in spring and summer 2021, but this time the BFC lives in the "now" and takes a slower approach to fashion and consumption. This is the first official season in which BFC and LFW see "Reset" as the central theme of their "Positive Fashion" and "#LFWReset" initiatives – certainly a step in the right direction.
