The haute couture collections in autumn 2020 were definitely different. Thanks to the ongoing pandemic, designers had to be creative when it came to not only constructing their haute couture masterpieces, but also showing them off the runway. And not all designers thought the same.

Iris van Herpen only offered one, albeit breathtaking, dress. Schiaparelli gave us detailed sketches with some even suitable dog companions. Both Chanel and Alexandre Vauthier provided lookbooks; The former chose a rock & roll mood, the latter has a more glamorous approach at home. Ralph & Russo even created their own avatar to model their collection. There were also countless accompanying videos.

Balmain presented a live presentation on TikTok, which was associated with technical difficulties. However, we love the fact that Olivier Rousteing pulled from the archives of the cult brand for some looks.

Check out our favorite looks from the haute couture collections for fall 2020.
