We are (still) looking for ways to occupy ourselves. After weeks of streaming movies, putting together puzzles, and posting tons of TikTok videos, you're probably running out of ideas on how to spend your free time. Our suggestion? Learn a new skill in how to apply your makeup professionally. Easier said than done, you say? Not if you have access to professional makeup tips.
There are two types of advice to get a perfect look at home: the advice you can use and the advice you can't use. You know, you're all looking forward to reading a "Pro" tip list that says, "Get out there and buy $ 100 brushes and this expensive product from France and this powder from which Nobody has heard of MAC yet. " Well, we would do it much better as an amateur makeup artist with pro products.
So what can you really do? Actually a lot. Read on to discover simple makeup tips and tricks you can try at home. And remember, practice makes perfect.
Lips that look fuller and more defined
Draw the skin on the outside of your lip line with the cream highlighter that you normally use for your dark circles. Mix it in. Your lips will stand out and look more defined.
Perfect lipstick every time
The next step for a perfect lip job? The colored lipstick that you use on the inside edge of your lips. It's hard to do it just right and perfect, but if you draw small markings that help balance and fill in your lines, you're basically free at home. So start by creating an "X" in the upper middle of your upper lip. The top half of the "X" should be drawn where your lip bow is. Next, draw two short lines at the corners of your mouth. They should look like the characters greater than and less than: < and >. These give you visual guidance as you fill in the rest to keep your hand straight. Not to mention that many of us don't get into the corners at all (a big mistake). Now yours are done!
Turn your favorite lipstick into longwear lipstick
After applying your favorite lipstick, carefully place a tissue handkerchief over your lips. Then gently tap the tissue with a brush (it will get to your lips). Now your lipstick will last much longer.
Don't feel lipstick but want a fuller look? Add cinnamon or peppermint oil to your shine just before applying. They are natural, temporary lip fillers.
Take your translucent powder, tap it on your eyebrows, and then use a tinted brow gel. Voila! This little bug when plucking has been fixed.
We all know (thanks to the Kardashians) what difference contouring can make. But there are so many options and so many powders that it can feel like an annoyance. Here's a simple cheekbone trick: take an eyebrow pencil and draw two parallel lines under your cheekbones. Mixture.
From pencil to gel liner
Do you need a dramatic line? Hold your standard pencil liner over the flame of a candle or lighter for a few seconds. The crayon melts easily and now you can get longer lasting gel-like lines.
Eye shadow that really pops
Every season there is a bright "it" shade of shade that we want to try, but it just never looks like the runway. Maybe it's due to those expensive shadows, but if you have the standard price of Rite Aid on your makeup table, here's how to really pop it. First fill your lid with a white marker pen and then apply the electric blue shadow on it.
Whips there (without falsia drama)
If you have baby powder, you can have fuller lashes without glue problems. First apply a layer of mascara. Next, paint a Q-Tip dipped in baby powder over it. Apply the next layer. To repeat.
Damp skin like you are sixteen
This is the only brand product that we highly recommend: High Beam by Benefit Cosmetics is a liquid highlighter with a hint of shimmer that gives your skin the perfect moist finish that makes us all look a little bit more youthful. Use a strip on the apple of your cheeks, the middle of your forehead and the middle of your chin, all mixed in, of course.
A longer lasting blowout
Drop the hair tie. Twist your curls into a bun at night and secure them with a couple of hairpins. The next morning you have gentle waves that can be repaired quickly. No more strange kinks or broken strands from rubber bands.
Decapitate and hide circles – really
Oh, there are so many tricks to decapitate your eyes and get rid of circles. The following works if necessary. Forget the cold spoon or lemon juice, or whatever is the trend this week, take a can of soda out of the fridge and hold it under your eyes to decapitate it. Now apply concealer in dots instead of stripes under your eyes. Mix pat instead of wipe and you will have bright eyes like the best on the red carpet.
