When I started working from home, I felt distracted most of the time. I used to work in bed with my laptop and it affected my productivity … very much! Working from home became easier when I started working at a real desk.
To increase your productivity, you must first set up a suitable desk and chair. We spend most of our time working. The next (and most important) thing you can do is decorate your workspace so that it feels more comfortable and cozy. Decorating your desk in your own way will keep you inspired while working and increase your creativity. A well-decorated work area also means less delay! Here are some tips to get you started:
Add some color
Adding color to your desk is important as it not only affects your productivity but also improves your mood. Even if you're a minimalist at heart, try adding hues to your work environment – like yellow. This lively shade warms up your desk and provides you with energy so that you can kiss the procession farewell!
Don't worry, you don't have to do anything drastic like painting your wall yellow! An easy way to add color to your workspace is to add a few desk accessories. It can be as simple as a stapler, masking tape, or cute sticky notes.
Get a sweet cup
Whether you're drinking tea, coffee, or lemon water to strengthen your morning, drinking from a sweet cup is always more fun. If you normally drink from a simple old mug, it's time to upgrade! Choose a mug that fits your style and looks good on your desk. Do you already have a mug? Who says you can't add one (or two) more?
Post some motivational quotes on your wall
A simple white wall promotes neither creativity nor inspiration. However, turning it into a wall full of art or inspiring quotes will make you feel more motivated to get through your working days.
If you live in a rented room and can't drill holes in your wall to mount photo frames, you can always create DIY art! Just write your favorite motivational quotes on some cute notepads and stick them on your wall. You can also make your task list visible by filling wall planners with your upcoming tasks or projects. Put them at your desk so you can better manage your time or plan your week more efficiently.
Buy some plants (real or artificial)
Plants can transform any room into a more lively environment if you are already thinking of adding something Green to your homeWhy not do the same for your workplace? Plants reduce stress and give your desk warmth and style.
In addition to the great decoration, there are also plants that purify the air, such as spider plants, snake plants, Boston ferns or aloe vera. If you are not ready to own a plant, you can always start with an artificial one.
Listen to music while you work
Music is my secret to me, to concentrate on my work. Listening to music may be distracting for some, but if you choose the right playlist, you will find that it actually relaxes you and helps you be more productive. If you work alone from home, you can play music through a speaker. Check out some of these Bluetooth speakers that are sure to add an entertaining touch to your desk:
