While Pantone is driving Classic Blue for 2020, another color is taking over. We speak of butter yellow. Forget the pastel and golden varieties of the sunny shade, the shadow in the middle of the street is the focus.
It's called butter yellow because it resembles the shade of butter. And it's surprisingly versatile. Designers such as Simon Porte Jacquemus and Daniel Lee offered seasonal dresses and shorts in butter color as part of the Jacquemus and Bottega Veneta Spring 2020 collections.
Of course, the street style set was already in vogue at the autumn 2020 shows. So be prepared to see the hot hue well into summer and maybe even into autumn. (That means the buttery, light sweater looks just as good on the street in a few months as it does when you work from home.)
You can already find everything in butter yellow. We checked the online stores and discovered jeans, dresses, bags, bike shorts, ballerinas and more in the color of the moment. And it's relatively easy to incorporate the smooth hue into your wardrobe. Our only advice is to avoid wearing it from head to toe.
