The Korean skin care brand Amill mainly focuses on cleaning products that are formulated with superfoods such as quinoa, oatmeal, chia seeds, rice and linseed. For someone like me who has oily skin and loves waterproof makeup, a good cleansing routine is incredibly important. That's why I'm reviewing Amill's entire Super Grain range.
Before you start looking at cleaning products, it's important to understand the main ingredients and the benefits they promise. oatmeal is a gentle ingredient that nourishes the skin and relieves acne and other skin irritations. Rich in vitamin B. Andes millet Reduces skin pigmentation, improves skin elasticity and reduces sebum production. linseed and Chia seeds are ideal for controlling sebum, promoting anti-inflammatory effects and accelerating the healing process of blemishes. R.ice is an ancient skin care substance that soothes the skin and improves its texture.
Step 1: super grain cleaning oil
Obviously, people with oily skin don't particularly like oil cleaners. However, oil cleaning is an essential first step to thoroughly remove makeup, especially if it's waterproof.
The texture is the most shocking aspect of this cleaner as it is incredibly light. Even when I massaged it over my face, unlike most oil cleaners, it didn't feel very sticky. My waterproof mascara was easily removed by gently massaging the formula over my eyes. My lip tint left slight stains, but the oil cleaner thoroughly removed my creamy lipstick. The formula became opaque and watery when I rinsed it off with lukewarm water and it left no oily residue.
Step 2: super grain foam cleansing Bubble foam
The foam cleaners have a very different texture, but have the same function – they thoroughly rid your skin of ALL makeup and excess sebum that the oil cleaner may have overlooked. The Super Grain Foam Cleansing is a creamy cleaner that has to be foamed into foam while the bubble foam is already coming out as foam.
With a thicker consistency and a creamier texture, the foam cleaning provides a more thorough cleaning than the bubble foam. However, the fine texture of the bubble foam feels softer and more soothing. After trying both cleansers, I definitely prefer the Super Grain Bubble Foam, which cleanses my skin but doesn't make it firm. It is soothing and moisturizing – and I don't have to lather the formula!
I would not recommend using both products together even if you have extremely oily skin as this would free the skin of its natural oils.
Step 3: super grain wash-off pack
The Super Grain Wash-Off Pack is a clay mask that contains the same ingredients as the cleaning agents, but contains almonds instead of chia seeds. Almond is rich in vitamin E and is ideal for peeling. The skin becomes smoother and flawless.
At first, I feared that the formula would cause micro-cracks in my skin. However, the Super Grain Wash-Off Pack was not as grainy as it seemed and had a fairly smooth texture that didn't make my skin worse. Amill recommends washing it off after 10 minutes, but I removed it after 6 ~ 7 minutes.
The washing-up pack definitely peeled my skin off and made it feel smoother. After each use, I noticed that my skin was not so oily for the rest of the week.
Final verdict: Does my oily skin like these products?
Since the main ingredients are pretty similar across the board, all of the products provided the moisturizing and soothing cleansing I needed. The cleaning line has a very consistent and brand-related packaging that emphasizes its natural ingredients and has a fragrance that is reminiscent of almond milk.
Overall, the four products worked very well with my oily skin. The detergents and washing-up pack were soothing and soothed the redness of my skin. The raw materials promised to fight hyperpigmentation, but my sunspots remained untouched, although I noticed that my complexion looked lighter.
The cleaning oil was definitely a highlight for me. I have never been so enthusiastic about oil cleaners and was amazed at how refreshed my skin felt after each use.
